Guy Worley is a consultant colorectal surgeon at the Royal London Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust, London, UK, and a Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at The Blizard Institute, Queen Mary University of London. He previously worked as a fellow then locum consultant surgeon at St Mark’s Hospital and has a subspeciality interest in the surgical management of people suffering from complex IBD, including complex perianal fistulae, Intestinal Failure, minimally invasive (keyhole) and robotic surgery. He regularly uses FilaC (laser) and VAAFT minimally invasive options for anal fistulae.

 

His PhD focused on the surgical management of ulcerative colitis including ileoanal pouch surgery and complications, and he continues to be involved in research related to Crohn’s and colitis, including contributing to the TOpCLASS Consortium regarding perianal Crohn’s disease.

 

He is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for Colorectal Disease and sits on the ACPGBI Education and Training Committee. Ex trainee representative to the ACPGBI IBD Subcommittee and Dukes Club IBD Rep. He is a reviewer and advisor to Crohn’s and Colitis UK.
