IBD પેશન્ટ પેનલ વિશે
The IBD Patient Panel formed in 2017. We are a group of voluntary IBD patients, parents, carers and Bart's Health staff who meet virtually about 4 times a year to discuss hospital services and, how we can work with the medical teams and hospital management to make changes to improve IBD patient services and experiences.
As a panel we have already started making a huge difference for IBD patients through our projects based on patient experience questionnaires that we sent out and analysed.
We have played a large part in getting the ‘Not Every Disability is Visible’ signs on accessible toilet doors. This will have a huge positive impact not only for IBD patients who feel stigmatised for needing toilet facilities urgently but also for other Conditions and Learning needs of the hospital community too.
With the support of CCUK East London Group we have also provided our IBD inpatients with a freezer to help make Enteral Nutrition more palatable.
Pre Covid we presented at the Trust’s Learning and Teaching Day highlighting the importance of Patient Panels. We have run many Charity and Information stalls around the Hospital working in partnership with Crohn's and Colitis UK and CiCRA.
We have also run two open day events in the trust
Our recent projects include running a questionnaire on patient and staff views on Virtual Clinics to enable the IBD Team to provide the best Virtual Clinical experience possible.
We are always looking for new members to come and join us so whether you are a patient, family member or member of RLH & MEH staff from any dept get in touch.
In 2020 in view of the Covid 19 Pandemic some of the IBD services moved across to the Mile End Hospital so we expanded and have become the IBD Patient Panel for the Royal London and Mile End Hospitals.
In 2022 we worked closely with the medical teams creating and distributing our second patient survey reviewing the IBD Services at the Royal London and Mile End Hospitals. Results have been published on this site, keep checking back regularly to see what YOU SAID and how we can help.
