General Information for all IBD Patients
Please note all emails will be prioritised in order of health need and not the date received. Thank you for your patience.
Please help the IBD Nurses by including your full name, date of birth or hospital number in each email you send.
If you suspect you are having a flare, you must include your symptoms in detail so that the team can assess and advise accordingly, in order to prevent any delay in your treatment.
The IBD advice line is NOT an emergency service. If you have an urgent clinical need, you should contact NHS 111 or your GP services. If you need IMMEDIATE medical care, you should attend your closest/local emergency (A&E) department.
If you need advice out of hours please call the Hospital Switchboard 0207 377 7000 and ask to speak to the On Call Gastroenterology Registrar.
Please note the IBD Helpline is reserved for clinical advice only e.g. if you are having a flare of your IBD. If your query is not related to this, please see below information for further instructions on whom you should contact.

Prescription queries
Please allow as much notice as possible for hospital prescriptions and where possible, repeat prescriptions should come from your GP

If you have an urgent concern and would like to speak to one of the IBD medical team you can contact the medical secretaries directly 0203 594 3500 or via switchboard 0207 377 7000 and ask to speak to the IBD SpR (during the day) or on call gastroenterology registrar (out of hours).
