Why did Tish Chose to specialise in IBD?

​

My name is Tish and I have been an IBD nurse for 10 years, working at The Royal London Hospital for the past 8 years. I became interested in IBD after spending my junior nursing years on a Specialist Paediatric Gastro ward and always enjoyed nursing and supporting this group of patients. My role at The Royal London started in Paediatrics and young adults which allowed me to support IBD patients on their journey to becoming adults and providing individualised care to patients. Since end Feb 2025 I became the Lead Adult IBD Clinical Nurse Specialist at the Royal London and Mile End Hospital. 

 

I am constantly in awe of my patients grit and determination.
 

Why is the IBD Patient Panel so important?

The patient panel at The Royal London is a wonderful resource for patients and families and allows patients to directly impact and improve care within the department. They have helped to improve our services hugely and I am very proud to be a small part of that.
