Blood Tests

All blood tests at The Royal London Hospital should be pre-booked:

Walk-in appointments are available only when clinically urgent.

Children's Blood Tests

  • Location: Children’s Outpatient Department, Clinic 4, 7th Floor, Royal London Hospital

  • Hours: Monday–Friday, 09:00–16:30

  • Access: Lift 1 or 9

 

Young Adult Blood Tests

  • Location: Blood Testing Room, 2nd Floor, North Tower, Royal London Hospital

  • Hours: Monday–Friday, 08:00–16:30

  • Access: Lift 8

 

Stool Samples

Stool samples can be submitted to:

  • Pharmacy & Pathology Building
    80 Newark Street, London, E1 2ES

Or posted (next day delivery only) to:

  • Paediatric IBD CNS
    Paediatric Gastroenterology
    Royal London Hospital
    Whitechapel, London, E1 1FR

If posting, please email the team to confirm dispatch.

Ensure:

  • The sample pot is clearly labelled with the date of collection

  • Specialist Registrar

  • IBD Pharmacist

  • IBD Specialist Nurse

Appointments Guidance

Please attend all appointments, even if you feel well, as regular review is essential for your treatment and medication safety.

If you cannot attend:

  • Please contact the IBD secretary or Central Appointments as early as possible

  • This allows your slot to be offered to another patient
